We will gather again on Wednesday evening – December 11 – at 6:30 for the spiritual rest that only Jesus can give us in the Gospel. Exhausted? “Come to me,” Jesus says. He will give us rest for our souls.
We will gather as a church family in God’s house for a mid-week Advent devotion on Wednesday, December 4 at 6:30pm. This week’s devotion asks the question: Distracted? God’s Word will focus our attention – and our to-do list! – on the one thing needful.
We will gather for worship to celebrate Thanksgiving as a church family in God’s house on Wednesday evening, November 27 at 7:00. You are more than welcome to join us! In fact, we’d love to see you there!
This weekend in worship we will celebrate the Grace of God that moved him to save us from sin. Our prayer is that every member of our church family will be able to join us in God’s house for that celebration. Our hope is that you can join us as well!
Gethsemane Lutheran thanks all of our brave men and women of our military for serving us so faithfully. God bless you all in Jesus!
On Sunday, November 10, Pastor Helwig will begin a new Bible Study that will focus on seven important relationships within a marriage. Each one of those relationships matters. The class will run on Sunday mornings from 9:15 to 10 :15 through November and December.
On Sunday, October 27, the members of Gethsemane will be gathering for worship with the members of our sister congregations in the greater Omaha area at Westside High School (87th & Pacific) at 9:30am for a joint Reformation service. Please take note that there will be no services at Gethsemane that weekend.
Our four basketball teams (5-6 Boys, 5-6 Girls, 7-8 Boys, 7-8 Girls) have all been practicing a number of weeks already but games finally begin this weekend – December 7! Go Falcons!
Gethsemane Lutheran School will be on Thanksgiving break Wednesday, November 27 through Sunday, December 1. From our family to yours: have a blessed, safe, relaxing, and grateful Thanksgiving.
From every student of our school and from every member of our faculty: “Thank you!” We thank all of our hot lunch volunteers for an amazing Thanksgiving dinner and we thank all of our parents and grandparents and family-friends who were able to take time out of their busy schedules to sit down to eat…
Thank you to everyone who scrubbed walls, dusted vents, wipes lights, mopped floors, and washed windows in our school building on Saturday. We appreciate you!
With the soccer season officially coming to a close, volleyball practices are in full swing. Students in grades 5-8 will be competing in a two-division, all-day volleyball tournament at Nebraska Lutheran High School on Saturday, October 26. Go Falcons!
Next week all of our teachers will be attending a two-district, five-state conference of Lutheran Elementary School Teachers in Denver, CO. This continuing education opportunity certainly enables our teachers to grow professionally, but, more importantly, it enables them to grow spiritually as they gather around Word and Sacrament with fellow teachers of our national church…
This week, students in grades 3-8 will take part in our annual standardized testing. This testing enables our parents and our teachers to gauge the progress of each student in comparison to not only their scores from previous years but also in comparison to national averages. What a blessing that, historically, students at Gethsemane test…
