The first day of school for the 2018-2019 school year will be Thursday, 8/16. We pray for God’s richest blessings upon our teachers and students as another year of God’s grace and blessing gets underway at Gethsemane Lutheran School. #ChristianEducation
A golf outing is planned for Saturday, 8/25 at Tregaron GC in Omaha, NE. Team entrance fees / shotgun start times to be announced soon for this 4 person team event. Funds raised will provide seed money for a new church and school sign. Please contact the church/school office should you wish to learn more or enter a foursome.
Gethsemane Lutheran Church will be offering a special outdoor worship service starting at 10:30 AM on Sunday, 9/9. All are welcome to come! The theme for the day will be “Fun in the SON!” Around 12:00 noon, a pig roast picnic will be served with games and fun for both kids and adults starting around 1:00 PM. Hope to see you there!
“The Vine” is Gethsemane’s Toddler Time program, providing all Moms with a support group of sorts or place to go for some good, simple fun and meet other Moms and their kids. This year, we kick off our program on Wednesday, 9/12 at 9:00 am. The group is planning to meet every Wednesday morning so come whenever you can. A four week sermon series focused on “Family Life” kicks off on September 15-16. The first week is entitled “Take Time Together . . . on a Sunday Morning.” The focus of worship and the sermon will be on the blessings that come when families take time and make time to regularly worship God together. Come and join us Saturday evening or Sunday morning for worship!
The LES fall volleyball tournament will take place on Saturday, 10/27. As in years past, this year’s event will be held at Nebraska Lutheran High School in Waco, NE. For more detailed information about this event, please contact Mr. Pederson, the school athletic director.
On Wednesday 11/7, a special Veteran’s Day morning chapel will be held at Gethsemane. All are welcome! Veteran’s from our congregation and the surrounding community are encouraged to come!
